Minutes of the 66th Colorectal Cancer Patient Support Group held on
Friday 20 January 2012 at St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil
Present
28 members attended the meeting.
Apologies
23 members unable to attend.
Welcome
Rowland welcomed members to our 66th meeting and introduced our guest speaker Catherine Carpenter-Clawson (Research Network Manger).
Correspondence
Rowland received further e-mails from Avon, Somerset & Wiltshire Cancer Services (ASWCS) relating to user involvement meetings.
Rowland received a letter from Rosemary Hutchings saying she was still unable to attend meetings and wished us all a very happy & healthy 2012. She also sent us a donation of £25 for our group funds. Members signed a thank you card to express their appreciation and best wishes to Rosemary.
Rowland received a letter and receipt from BBC Children in Need thanking us for our £100 donation.
Matters Arising
Web Site
The Colon-aid web site has been updated to add the minutes of the December meeting, the site has received over 6000 hits since October 2006.
“Living with and beyond cancer”
At our last meeting Roger P & David C advised that the Winter Issue of “News from YDH” had details of the above event on Friday 23 March 2012 at Haynes Motor Museum. Sign in is at 9.30am for a 10.00am start and finishes at 4.00pm and includes a complementary lunch. Booking is essential. There will be presentations, discussions and exhibitions. Joanna J handed members an information leaflet about the event and Sue J took a number of copies to pass on to the C.A.F.E. Joanna advised that YDH were looking for a couple of volunteers to help out checking people in on arrival.
