Welcome
Rowland welcomed members to our 52nd meeting and introduced our guest speaker Kerry Rennie from the YDH Clinical Trails Team and Sam  who had joined the YDH Colorectal/Stoma Care team. Rowland reminded members of the location of fire exits, toilets and the £1 donation for St Margaret’s Hospice to cover refreshments. Contributions at recent meetings were less than expected in relation to the numbers attending. Patricia offered her apologies for the disruption at the last meeting when she became unwell. Everyone was very pleased that she recovered and glad to see her at this meeting.
Post meeting note: my apologies to Roger & Gillian for not introducing them as new members, they had expressed their interest in joining us at the Stoma Open Day.
Correspondence
E-mail received from Colorectal/Stoma Care Department thanking Maureen Raybould & Rowland for their efforts at the Open Day at Westland on 21 October 2010.
E-mail received from Macmillan about Carers Rights Day on Friday 3 December 2010 to raise awareness of carer’s rights and increase take up of benefits and other support. Hundreds of events will take place throughout the UK to offer advice and support to carers.
E-mail from ASWCS forwarding Rowland the Notes of Colorectal SSG Meeting 23 September 2010 at YDH. Rowland replied to ASWCS advising them that the list of attendees was incomplete and there was no record of his user input to the meeting that he attended in place of Stan Turner.
E-mail from Emily Attwell regarding adding a link on our web site to the hypnotherapy-directory.org.uk web site. The purpose of the site is to provide the UK with a huge hypnotherapy support network. Rowland replied that he would consult members as to whether they thought such a link was appropriate for Colon-aid. Members felt that adding a link was not appropriate and Rowland will advise Emily of the decision.
