Annual Dinner
17 members attended the Annual Dinner on Thursday 4th March 2010 at Mulberrys, Yeovil. We had booked for 22 but there were 5 late cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances. Once again we received excellent service and enjoyed a very good meal in great company. A selection of photographs taken at the dinner were passed around and viewed by members.
Refreshment Break
Stan and Hazel ran a raffle of member donated prizes during the break that raised £38 for our Raffle Fund.
Refreshment donations of £20.50p were passed on to St Margaret’s by Rowland.
Open Forum
Not held at this meeting as we had an extended refreshment break that gave members more time to chat to our new members and catch up with news.

Refund of Expenses
Rowland requested members to approve the refund of £105.14 expenses covering the period from 18 September 2009 to 19 March 2010.
Printing £69.96 this sum covers the costs of paper, card and printer ink for printing Colon-aid Information Cards; information handouts on various topics for meetings; the Christmas Quiz paper; Annual Dinner Menus; Agendas; Meeting Minutes; e-mails and correspondence. The demand for our information cards for Patient Diaries has been high with a significant increase in the number of colorectal cancer patients being seen at YDH. (50 cards have been provided to Julie in the last three weeks)
Web site subscription of £35.18 to1and1for the period 28 February 2010 to 29 August 2010.
Members approved the refund and queried whether telephone calls and all other expenses had been included. Rowland replied that the cost of phone calls and wear & tear on printers; etc had never been included in previous claims. Because of an increasing number of daytime calls he had recently changed his BT calling plan to “Unlimited Anytime” that provides free calls for an additional £4.99 a month.
Members proposed that the cost of calls and all expenses should be included in future claims. Rowland agreed to consider this when making his next claim.
