Annual Dinner
A provisional booking has been made for Thursday 4th March 2010 7.00pm for 7.30pm at Mulberrys, Yeovil this allowed for members to advise their final menu choices at the 19th February 2010 meeting.
No alternative venues were proposed so the provisional booking will be confirmed.
Cards were given to members for them to record their choices for starter, main and dessert courses so that a menu and price could be finalised with Mulberrys. After reviewing the completed cards it appeared that the only changes from last year’s menu would be to add a Prawn Cocktail; offer a light soup; replace the goats cheese with a pork dish and replace the ‘boerewors’ with an alternative chicken dish. Requirements for salad rather than vegetables, well cooked vegetables and dishes without butter or sauces will be noted for each person when orders are confirmed at our February meeting.
Refreshment Break and Party Time
Stan & Hazel ran a raffle of member donated prizes during the break that raised £31 for our Raffle Fund.
Refreshment donations of £15.05 were passed on to St Margaret’s by Rowland.
Open Forum
The discussion of irrigation was continued and this led on to other topics including the cost of stoma pouches; how did third world countries cope; when were stomas first introduced and how were they managed.
Post meeting note:-
Rowland searched the internet and found the following book:-
Stoma Care by Jennie Burch, published by John Wiley & Sons ISBN: 878-0-470-03177-3
