Refreshment Break
The refreshment break gave members the opportunity to have a chat with our new members.
Stan & Hazel ran a raffle of member donated prizes during the break that raised £34 for our Raffle Fund.
At some stage there were comments about the colour of the winning tickets being drawn and something about ‘Julie on the buff’ probably misheard by some who believed we were in for a treat at Christmas!
Refreshment donations of £16 were passed on to St Margaret’s by Rowland.

Raffle Fund Balance
The balance of our raffle fund was £82.72 and with the addition of today’s £34 rises to £116.72.

ASWCS User Involvement Group Meeting 30 September 2009 Board Room at South Plaza, Bristol
Stan Turner gave a summary of the meeting that he and Heather Sutton attended as our representatives. One of the topics covered was Cancer Waiting Times and the following is an extract from the meeting notes:-
Cancer Waiting Times Update
Ros Ashley, ASWCS Information Officer provided an update on the changes recently introduced to the Cancer Waiting Time (CWT) targets. Prior to 2008 ASWCS Trusts were regularly meeting the targets. A new change since 2008 removes the option for Trusts to “stop the clock” on tracking the patient’s journey. Previously the Trusts could adjust the figures to allow for factors such as the patient’s ill health and/or need to be treated for another condition, a patient’s request for some ‘thinking’ time, the wish to take a holiday, etc. As a result not all of the targets are now being met.
