ASWCS advising the next meeting Colorectal SSG will be 9th November 2009 2.30 to 4.30 at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Macmillan Cancer Support regarding their ‘Freeze out fuel poverty’ campaign. They are looking for cancer patients under 60 who struggled last winter/and or expect to struggle this winter. If you can help support the campaign contact Alison Davies on 020 7840 7806 or aldavies@macmillan.org.uk.
ASWCS to members of the Colorectal SSG relating to the HOT II trial of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy in patients suffering long-term adverse effects of radiotherapy for pelvic cancer.
Lapco Newsletter August 2009 this newsletter reviewed the last 12 months of the national training programme in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. It included a piece on Enhanced Recovery and mentioned the extensive research by Dr Fiona Carter on Enhanced Recovery since its implementation at Yeovil District Hospital in 2002.
Also of interest was a Press Association release of the Food Standards Agency report on chicken samples that showed 66% contained campylobacter that causes 55,000 to fall ill every year. Salmonella was found in 6% of samples.

Disabled Toilet Facilities at YDH The location and facilities of the other disabled toilets at YDH have not yet been established.

This meeting will take place in Room 6, Level 3, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Stan asked members to advise him or Heather of any topics they would like to be raised at the Colorectal SSG.
