An alternative consideration is that by the end of a course of chemotherapy the patient is probably not taking in everything that might be said. There was a feeling that the group should write to the YDH expressing these concerns, Rowland will contact the YDH Oncology Unit to establish who we should write to regarding this concern. A cynical view was that follow up of this nature costs money and this might be an explanation.
A member asked whether the Patient Diary included a phone number for the Palliative Care Nurse as many other contacts were included. Rowland will check this with the YDH Oncology Unit.
