Welcome to  ‘Colon-aid’
The Yeovil District Bowel Cancer Support Group
Our group is for people diagnosed with colorectal cancer who were or are being treated at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust or those who have moved into our area.  Our membership includes patients and carers with ages between 50 and the mid 80s. Members with stomas are now a minority following 9 successful reversions in the last couple of years or so and others who did not need formation of a stoma in their treatment.  We have members who are up to 13 years from diagnosis and others who are part way through or just starting their treatment.  Many of our members have returned to work following successful treatment and are unable to attend our monthly meetings but keep in touch via our meeting minutes; web site; telephone calls and our Annual Dinner, Cream Tea Afternoon and Bowel Cancer awareness events.

See our Can we help? pages for Patient & Carer Stories, recommended books & toilets, etc.

Our site provides a ‘window’ with links on our Related sites pages to many thousands of pages dealing with all aspects of coping with cancer from diagnosis to treatment and post treatment. Links to the three main bowel cancer charities are provided below.
